Comprised of over 200 members, our lodge membership is progressive and diverse and has brothers living all around the world with different backgrounds, career paths, interests, and beliefs. Because of our proximity to the university, our membership is younger than most other lodges making it a great lodge for young professionals to be introduced to the craft. Our lodge consists of a lively and eclectic group of individuals that not only put back into our community, do charity work, and other “Masonic” things… but also socializes outside our lodge. Our lodge often has at least one fellowship activity every month where we take road trips, go hiking, camping, or fishing, play golf, see live music, go out to dinner, and several other activities where we bolster our brotherhood.
Our Building
Originally developed as the residence of Knoxville industrialist, banker, real estate developer, railroad magnate, and philanthropist Charles McClung McGhee (1828-1907), this Victorian mansion now houses several masonic organizations, to include Oriental Lodge 453. The Masonic Temple Association hired prominent Knoxville architect A.B. Baumann and builder J.M. Dunn & Son in 1915 to repurpose the Charles McClung McGhee House. The building was remodeled and the exterior was altered into the monumental, classical structure that it is today. The interior was restored and preserved with the many of the original masterpieces and architectural details still remaining. Our lodge boasts plenty of character for all to see!

Our Location
Nestled perfectly in the heart of downtown Knoxville, our lodge is within walking distance of all the up-and-coming restaurants, bars, shops, venues, theaters, art galleries, and parks. We are also within close walking distance of Market Square, the Knoxville Museum Of Art, the Convention Center, the Downtown Library, the YMCA, the Tennessee Theater, the Bijou, the University of Tennessee (great for faculty, staff, and students), and the World’s Fair Park.
